Before I got involved in online activism, I was incredibly ignorant about many issues, especially those regarding television. Upon educating myself, I started to lean towards television once I realized the impact that television and film has society. Part of being a good writer means knowing your audience, and my time paying attention to social issues on television and film (which I found directly connect to political issues and mindsets of the general public) has taught me and demonstrated this to me. My goal is to play a part in the changing of the direction in which television and film are currently heading towards – through the means of proper writing for women, correct and politically correct representation, and complete regard for the fans as opposed to writing for oneself. On my blog you will see a series of television shows, including criticisms for many, as well as theories, social and political issues, and some personal content.

Writing is extremely important to me. It’s both an escape and a way to speak to people. I’ve always enjoyed movies and TV shows from a young age. I had a fangirl-ish nature and got easily hooked onto visually pleasing forms of media. As I grew and learned more, I started to move towards focusing on the writing. I didn’t know I wanted to write until I was about 13. My best friend had always been the writer of the two of us, but when I decided to give it a try myself, I was addicted. I found a passion in putting the words out on page. The first time I ever decided to apply it to live-action screen, my life turned around. I knew from that moment on that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Come hell or high water, I would write. I enrolled into film school and haven’t looked back since.
